I always had a fan going in my daughters room for white noise, even now at 14 months. One thing that never worked for me was the bath right before bed. For whatever reason, a bath seemed to regenerate my daughter, instead of having a relaxing affect. I had to start bathing her in the morning. I also used a humidifier pretty consistently, which seemed to help as well. When it came to "putting my foot down" I used the extinction method, although it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do, it was well worth it. She goes to sleep on her own now, and I couldn't be happier.
